First up!

Kicking off Country Summer this year on the Chevy Silverado Stage was Ned Ledoux, Chris Ledoux’s second oldest son. The audience got to hear him play a mix of his own originals “We Ain’t got it All” and “Brother Highway”, as well as his Dad’s classic hits like “This Cowboy’s Hat” and “Bareback Jack.” What a treat it was for country music lovers to get to hear the closest thing to Chris and his legacy by seeing his son perform and rock the stage like a real cowboy in his flannel shirt and wranglers.

Ned connected with the audience by telling stories about writing songs with his dad and for his dad in memory of him after his passing like “The Hawk.” Ned explained prior to singing the song that his Dad once told him that if he ever came back as an animal, he would want to be a hawk. Since his Dad passed away back in 2005, they now have a Hawk flying over their ranch in Montana, and Ned likes to believe that it’s his Dad soaring over and watching over him and his family now. So that said, “The Hawk” was a heartfelt tribute to his father and how Ned continues to stay connected to him in his everyday life.

But what a great performance he gave to start off Country Summer! For those unfamiliar with Chris LeDoux’s legacy, Ned certainly did his Dad justice and I’m sure gained a lot of new fans today as well.

Here’s to a great day out here and having William Michael Morgan up next to continue this Country Summer party!
