Meet Pepenillo

Have a thing for golden boys? Then you are going to love Pepenillo, a dapper, 5-year-old German shepherd mix who is a true ray of sunshine. This fluffy boy is as sweet as can be and his foster family says he wants nothing more than to be somebody’s baby. Despite his 42-pound frame, Pepenillo thinks he’s a bit of a lapdog and he loves a good cuddle session. His favorite pastimes include sunbathing, snuggling with his people, snoozing on his dog bed, and snacking on treats (he especially likes peanut butter-filled KONGs and marrow bones). Pepenillo enjoys leisurely strolls on leash, but he does have some mobility issues so he’s a great companion for someone looking for a dog that likes to be a homebody. This golden boy is sure to be a beautiful light in any family’s home.

Each Wednesday with Mornings With Amber, Compassion Without Borders shares a rescue dog from their shelter “Muttopia” that is featured on-air as our Mutt of the Week. Compassion Without Borders is a non-profit organization based in Santa Rosa. Their programs include dog rescue operations in Mexico and the Central Valley of California, along with free veterinary wellness and spay/neuter clinics in underserved communities on both sides of the border. Their mission is to find the animals that are in the most urgent need of help, yet the least likely to be helped due to geographic, cultural and socioeconomic barriers. They do amazing work!
