We Can Now Say…We Have a House Again…

It’s not gone anymore. For two and a half years…it was gone. I would tell people that I lost my family home…and I felt in my heart it was gone forever. Now, it’s back.

It’s not a burned down pile of memories. It’s not a scraped lot. It’s not four walls without a roof. It’s a house, and it’s almost a home.

Each door just waits for it’s happy occupant to open it. Each cabinet is ready for new belongings. Every window is ready for it’s new view. The house is waiting for it’s brand new color…paint is on the way.

After two years of feeling a void in my heart. After two years of saying “Gone” and “Burned Down,” the house stands again. That will be a funny thing to get used to. I can hardly wait. My family can hardly wait.

For just over a year, we’ve worked with First Interstate Contractors to design the 2.0 version of our home. It seems like a million years ago and just yesterday when my sister and I sat down to work on the floor plans of the home.

First Interstate Contractors kept us up to date every step of the way. We knew what had been completed and what was next. Were there challenges? Sure. But I knew that we were a team, and we could work through these challenges…and we did.

I knew that First Interstate Contractors had our home in such good hands, that I was able to move out of the area to pursue an opportunity in San Diego and I wouldn’t have to worry about what was going on with my mom’s house.  Between moving and starting a new job and planning a wedding…I was so relieved that our family home was one less thing to worry about.

This Spring…we can take one more step and my mom can call that house, a home. We’re so excited to give her the “Golden Key.”
