Wednesday night’s Kincade fire has grown to 10,000 acres and the entire town of Geyserville is under mandatory evacuation.  One of the areas affected was a communications tower site on Geyser Peak which holds equipment for several organizations, including the transmitter for Froggy 92.9 FM.  As you can see in the photo above, the fire got close to our transmitter, but thanks to the work of fire crews and favorable winds, we were not affected and have had no on-air disruption.  Here’s a look at the site as of Thursday afternoon:

We send our thanks to all the first responders who are working this incident in difficult terrain, and send our thoughts to those who have been evacuated and lost property.  We’ll keep you updated on Froggy 92.9 and on our sister station KSRO 1350am during this developing situation.  If you’d like to send a message to fire crews currently on the line, leave a comment below and we might read it on air!
