Hey it’s me, Dano.  Afternoon guy but part time morning guy for a few weeks.

My favorite part of this job is getting to meet YOU and know YOUR stories, it warms my heart meeting some of the best people in Sonoma County every single time we’re out for an event.

One of those people a few years ago was Tricia Wells from Petaluma.  I met her at a difficult time, she’d just lost her son Nick Wells in a drowning accident up in Blue Lake.  We stayed in touch over the years on Facebook, and one day she messaged me that Nick’s friends had built a bar in his honor.  She invited me several times to come and check it out but I could never work it into my schedule (damn kids!! lol).  I finally made some time and brought my phone…this is Nick’s Bar take a listen:

It’s a touching story, and I share it with you because it’s so indicative of country people to me.  They don’t sit on their hands for anything, even grief.  These guys DID something about it.  You can’t fix it.  But you can still DO something.  And in the background Froggy 92.9 plays.  It’s this swirl of family, fun, hard work, heart, the station, the music, the beverages hahaha….it’s country.  RIP Nick Wells, I never got to meet you, but I now know your story.  You are not forgotten.
