We take one of these backstage at Country Summer every year, usually about the same time too-  before the 3rd act on Saturday, when we come on stage together and thank you for your support. We call these shots our ‘Family Photo’.

Rob missed the first one LOL

I’ve been looking at them a lot since Rob & Joss told me they were leaving Froggy 92.9.  I’m very excited for them, and they deserve this great opportunity in a new city. And while this is not what I would choose to happen, looking at these photos, I don’t feel bad.  I don’t miss anything.

A number of years ago, God led me down a path to leave alcohol behind.  If you’ve ever quit anything, you know, longing to have it back is perhaps the worst part.  But I changed my perspective. I stopped looking at a 6 pack and wondering what it tasted like-  I knew ;-). I’d done it. And strangely that gave me a sense of accomplishment and reassurance, rather than pain and pining.

And when I look at our Family Photos, I feel the same way.  I don’t wonder what could have been. I see what we’ve done.

And what we’ve done for 10 years on Froggy 92.9 is have without question the best airstaff on the biggest station in the North Bay.  Hundreds of thousands of dollars raised for St. Jude. Hundreds of thousands of cans of food raised for the Redwood Empire Food Bank.  Tens of thousands of free concert tickets given to YOU. Tens of thousands of dollars in cash and gift cards given to families who need it like YOU.  Produced concerts that brought an insane list of huge stars to little ol’ Santa Rosa- Florida Georgia Line, Luke Bryan, Toby Keith, Lady Antebellum, Thomas Rhett and too many more to count.  We did everything in our power to help everyone we could when our town burned down, things you probably don’t even know about.

And we didn’t let our love of the job get in the way of Life either. Rob & Joss finally got engaged.  I got married and had 2 kids. Y’all- SPLASH GOT HIS KIDNEY I never thought I’d see the day!!!

We did it, we did it all.  The 4 of us- Splash, Dano and Rob & Joss –  we worked and lived with our hearts wide open.

And the thing is, that part doesn’t stop.  Myself and Splash will welcome a new show that will share those same values.  And Rob & Joss will take those values with them to their new home and introduce a new community to them.

I see what was and I know what will be.

That’s what I see when I look at our last Family Photo.
