With the high winds and dry conditions, wildfires have broken out across Sonoma County and our first responders and local community members have joined together to help. What follows are the latest updates on the fire in Sonoma County.

*** UPDATE FROM DEGAN @ MCNEARS IN PETALUMA: Free resources throughout Petaluma, including free meals at McNear’s (kids area in the theater next door with movies), McGuire’s & Sauce, the Roaring Donkey has laptops & iPod’s for kids to use, the local swim centers & gyms are open to everyone, allowing people to take showers. *** UPDATE: Friedman’s Home Improvement on Santa Rosa Avenue will have more generators in tomorrow. They did suggest Grainger’s Industrial Supply in Rohnert Park. MAP (10-10-17 – 12:52pm)

*** UPDATE: Mandatory evacuations for G & H sections in Rohnert Park have been lifted. (10-9-17 – 2:35pm)

*** UPDATE: In the Highway 101/Mendocino Avenue area, the Journey’s End mobile home park has been destroyed. The nearby Kaiser Hospital have evacuated patients to Kaiser San Rafael. (10/7/17 – 1:07pm)

*** UPDATE: From the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office, here are the mandatory evacuations:

— Rincon Valley North of Montecito Blvd. towards Brush Creek Road.

— Oakmont

— Sonoma Development Center

— Mission Highland, Norrborn Road, and Gehrick Road in Sonoma. (10/9/17 – 11:43am)

*** UPDATE: The SRPD has asked that you NOT return to your home presently in the evacuated areas. It is far too dangerous and the fire is too unpredictable. (10/9/17 – 11:40am)

*** UPDATE: We have unfortunately had one fatality in Mendocino County due to the many wildfires throughout the state. (10/9/17 – 11:38am)

*** UPDATE: From the Sonoma County Sheriff, here are ways to keep you and your neighbors safe:

  1. Only call 911 for true emergencies, not for general information.
  2. If you’re safe, stay indoors, close your windows and turn on the air conditioning to keep the air fresh.
  3. Stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary.
  4. Evacuation areas are unsafe. Follow the instructions of emergency personnel. (10/9/17 – 10:57am)

*** UPDATE: The SRPD has now announced a mandatory evacuation for Rincon Valley (all areas north of Montecito from Brush Creek Road) & the Oakmont areas. Also, if you’re attempting to head EB Highway 12 out of Santa Rosa, CHP will turn you around at Madrone. (10/9/17 – 10:54am)

*** UPDATE: The evacuations are now mandatory in the G & H sections of Rohnert Park. Evacuation centers are available at the Burton Avenue Rec Center (7421 Burton Ave.), Faith Community Church (7352 Boris Ct.), RP Assembly of God Church (4695 Snyder Lane), and Sally Tomatoes (1100 Valley House Drive). *** UPDATED: If you’re looking to help out, Catholic Charities Family Support Center at 465 A Street in Santa Rosa. They cannot accept many food or clothing donations but can take in monetary donations. (10/9/17 – 10:03am)

*** UPDATE: Very sad to report that the Round Barn and the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts have both been destroyed. (10/9/17 – 9:07am)

*** More iconic businesses and homes have been destroyed in the Coffey Park/Hopper Avenue neighborhood have been leveled. K-Mart, McDonalds & Mountain Mike’s have all been leveled. Our hearts go out to everyone living and working that area of Santa Rosa. (10/9/17 – 9:03am)

*** UPDATE: According to local doctors, if you have breathing issues, including asthma or heart related breathing difficulty, you are advised to stay inside with the windows closed and the air conditioning on. Even without health issues, you should stay indoors until the skies clear and you can’t smell smoke. (10/9/17 – 9:00am)

*** UPDATE: Santa Rosa Evacuation Map The map has been moved south to Guerneville Road. (10/9/17 – 8:54am)

*** UPDATE: To all Dialysis patients in Santa Rosa, Windsor and Petaluma, treatment has been cancelled today BUT save this number: 1-800-367-8292. Contingency plans are being addressed presently. (10/9/17 – 8:20am)

*** UPDATE: Mandatory evacuations for Roberts Road, Lichau Road, Pressley Road, and Sonoma Mountain Road. Additional evacuation centers are open at Analy High School in Sebastopol (6950 Analy Ave.) and New Life Church (1310 Clegg Street, Petaluma. (10/9/17 – 7:22am)

*** UPDATE: Mandatory Evacuations now for G & H sections of Rohnert Park from Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety. They are asking that you evacuate south of the city. Presently all Rohnert Park evacuation centers are now closed. (10/9/17 – 6:33am)

 

Napa and surrounding area: The Montecito neighborhood; Highway 29 north of Tubbs Lane; Old Sonoma Road to Buhman Avenue; Dealy Lane, Henry Road; Coombsville Road; Wild Horse Valley Road; Carneros Inn.

Evacuation centers: Crosswalk Church, 2590 First St.; Napa Valley College gym; Napa County Fairgrounds, 1435 North Oak St., Calistoga. Napa County animal shelter at 942 Hartle Court will shelter dogs, cats and other household pets.

Santa Rosa and surrounding area: Guerneville Road/Steele Lane from the Mendocino Avenue corridor to Fulton Road; area north of Hopper Avenue between Highway 101 and Coffey Lane; area east of Fulton Road between Guerneville and River roads; Fountaingrove/Skyfarm/Montecito Heights area; Highway 128 from Tubbs Lane west to Santa Rosa.

Evacuation centers: Finley Center at West College Avenue and Stony Point Road; Petaluma Community Center at 320 North McDowell Blvd. Evacuation center is the Santa Rosa Veterans Memorial Building, 1351 Maple Ave. Large animals can be taken to the Santa Rosa Fairgrounds, .1350 Bennett Valley Road.
