As the amateur, less-than-competent, default historian of Froggy 92.9 (when the forecast in his memory isn’t half past foggy) Splash found this relic quite intriguing as it simply arrived without notice or return address.

Bob seems like a heck-of-a-guy doesn’t he? Quite kind of him to send this aged piece of clothing back to its original home. We decided to ask Splash to share with us what he remembers about the characters who signed this 100% cotton Froggy historical relic.

“Ann Phibian was a snarky, sarcastic, incredibly talented force of nature during her time with Froggy 92.9. She was also a Jill-of-All-Trades guest starring on all the stations that were owned at the time. I miss her energy and take-no-prisoners attitude.”

“I really miss Sally Mander’s quirky sense of humor and unsquashable positive outlook. She was always creating these creative promotions that truly portrayed the outgoing, creative nature of the station. She’s married, has a son, and is still working part time in radio today.”

“I’ve evolved half past nothing since those early days. Much like Prince, Madonna, Sting, The Rock, Ke$ha, I decided to drop my last name for branding purposes. Then someone decided to steal said moniker and start a local car wash. The pending lawsuit will take eons to resolve.”

“We’ve had a few Luke’s over the years, but this gentleman was the original. He was old-school, cantankerous, and treated me like I was twelve years old, which wasn’t his fault really because I was completely off the island when I joined Froggy. Gangbuster on the air though.”

Do you remember any of these Frogsters from the vaunted history of Froggy 92.9? Share below (especially because Splash’s recollections are all shades of fuzzy.)
