Taylor's Rabbits!

Posted 7/14/2015 11:19:00 AM

My name is Taylor Mills, I am 15 years old and I have been showing livestock in 4-H for seven years and FFA for two. I have been naming my rabbits after Rob and Joss since they started the idea. This year I will be showing my rabbit meat pen at the Sonoma County Fair, their names are Rob, Joss, and Splash. I have been raising rabbits for seven years and this year will be my fifth year doing a rabbit meat pen. A rabbit meat pen consists of a pen of three rabbits, the goal is not only to get them to look the best that they can, but also to make sure all three look almost identical. You can stop by the Fur and Feathers building, before the Hog barn but after the Steer barn, to see them before they go to auction.

Colton and Shantel's Pigs!

My name is Shantel and I am 12 years old. I just completed seventh grade at Twin Hills Middle School in Sebastopol. I enjoy sports, swimming, camping and most importantly spending time with my family and friends.  This is my fourth year in Gold Ridge 4-H. I joined 4-H because of my love for animals and agriculture.  For the past three years I have had a dairy and poultry project at the Sonoma County Fair.  For my dairy project I have a 2 year old jersey cow named " Mocha". My poultry project consists of market meat pens that I show and sell at the auction at the Sonoma County Fair. This year I decided to add a market swine project in addition to my dairy and poultry project.  For my swine project I chose an American Yorkshire hog which I named " Joss ".  Joss is approximately 5 months ...
