A Pig Named Rob! A Rabbit Named Joss!  Lambs named Rob and Joss!

Name  your farm animal after us and we’ll give you lots of love on the radio!

Ok, it might seem like shameless advertising on our part – and perhaps it is. But over the years we’ve found that our favorite part of the fair is visiting with the 4H and FFA kids and their animals!

So, we’re doing it again. Name your farm animals at the Sonoma County Fair after us and we’ll talk about you on our show, we’ll do an interview with you AT the fair AND the a pic of you, your animal and a description of your organization will be RIGHT HERE on our website! Cool! Right?

So here’s what you do.

1) Name your animal(s) after us. We don’t care if you have one animal (and you name it RobandJoss) or you have two girl animals, two boy animals or several!

2) Make sure you tell us! Submit your contact info HERE

3) Make a sign for your pen with the names of your animals AND Froggy 92.9 (or come by the station and we’ll give you a Froggy sign)

4) We’ll make an appointment for you to be on our show when your animal is at the fair AND we’ll make an appointment to come by and visit you and take pics!

AND it will all be SUPER FUN!

Thank you and good luck this year at the Sonoma County Fair!

My name is Hannah, I am 10 years old and in the Two Rock 4H.  This is my first year in the pig project and I have 2 female pigs.  I named my pigs Rob and Joss.  Joss is funny because sometimes when I go to her pen she gets excited and does a donkey kick.  Rob is the bigger of the two and often very lazy.  I have to pretend I have food so she will get up to exercise.  I hope you come visit us at the Sonoma County fair.

From,

Hannah

Hello, my name is Mackenzie Black. I am in Independence 4H. I am doing the Swine Project with Goldridge 4H because my club doesn’t have a Swing Project Leader. I am 10 years old and have been in 4H for 4 years. During those I have participated in many projects including Cooking, Self Defense, Poultry, and Glass Fusion. This is my first year showing animals in the fair. I have chosen Duroc pigs because of their dark hair color, which protects their skin from sun burn, and their gentle disposition. The names of my pigs are ‘Scarlet Joss’ and ‘Cinnamon Rob’.

Scarlet Joss is very silly. She is as playful as a puppy especially when water is involved. She is usually the first to greet me in the morning and has always been quite friendly.  Rolling in the mud is her favorite pastime.

Cinnamon Rob loves food. He eats food like he has never eaten before.  When we walk around the yard he tends to just push through obstacles rather than go around. This includes me when I put myself between him and his food bowl. As a result I have found myself riding him once or twice.

I have been working really hard to care for my pigs. Every day I feed and walk them and clean their pen. I am excited but a little bit nervous to show my pigs. I hope I do well.

I am going into 6th grade at Hillcrest Middle School next year. When I grow up I would like to be a marine animal trainer.  Learning how to take care of my pigs will help me to know how to care for other animals later in life.

I would like to invite you to the Sonoma County Fair. I will be showing my pigs Wednesday, June 29 at 9 am. Come by and cheer us on.

If you come to the fair you will be supporting me and many others in 4H.

Taylor Mills- I am a member of Forestville 4-H and Sebastopol FFA. I have been a 4-H member since I was eight years old, I am now 16 making this year my eighth year in 4-H. I have been a member of Sebastopol FFA since I was a freshman at Analy high school making this my third year. My rabbits are named Rob, Joss, and Dano and they are all the same breed (Californians). They look nearly identical; they are all white with brown markings on their noses, ears, feet, and tails and have pink eyes. All of the rabbits are spunky, with Rob still being quite skittish and Joss being the most energetic of the bunch. Dano is the calmest of the three and is more like a dog than a rabbit. I will be showing at the fair on Saturday the 23 all day Sunday the 24 all day with the pens.
