As you may have heard, I am currently on the UCSF Kidney Transplant awaiting my third kidney transplant from a cadaver donor. I have been on Dialysis now for four years and I must admit, from time to time, it hasn't been easy. Or in the neighborhood of easy. Or the zip code. Or anywhere relatively near easy.

And that's why I'm a huge supporter of the Sonoma County Kidney Crisis Foundation.

I hope you'll take a few moments to get to know the organization and hopefully, offer your support.

The Sonoma County Kidney Crisis Foundation is a non-profit organization established in 1972. Our sole purpose is to financially assist Sonoma County kidney patients with the day-to-day problems arising from kidney disease.

"How do we operate?"

The organization is governed by a Board of Directors who are all volunteers. There are no administration costs. ALL DONATIONS GO DIRECTLY TO HELP PEOPLE IN SONOMA COUNTY WITH KIDNEY DISEASE.

"Who is eligible?"

People in Sonoma County who are pre-Dialysis, currently on Dialysis or have had a kidney transplant are eligible. We can help in many ways. We have assisted with prescriptions, transportation, nutritional supplements, as well as educational seminars for kidney patients and their families.

"How to Obtain Funds"

We are a crisis foundation with the ability to provide timely assistance. A phone call to us or through the Dialysis or transplant social worker will put the request into action. The approval for the funds comes from a Board of Directors and a check can then be issued. Each request is individuall reviewed.

"How to Make a Donation"

The Foundation relies on community fundraising, memorials, and tax deductable donations. A donation can be mailed directly to the social worker at:

Sonoma County Kidney Crisis Foundation
P.O. Box 9002
Santa Rosa, CA. 95405
(707) 525-4662

Donations can also be made at any of the local Dialysis centers across Sonoma County. Volunteering your time also helps us to help others. As you consider gift giving, please consider the Sonoma County Kidney Crisis Foundation.

Thank you for taking the time to find out about the Sonoma County Kidney Crisis Foundation. Every year nearly 100,000 people are diagnosed with Kidney Failure and unfortunately, that means extremely painful life saving Dialysis treatments. Your support will give hope to those who are fighting for another chance at life.
