In the Northern San Francisco Bay Area, MSMVCD is the Marin and Sonoma County representative of the Mosquito and Vector Control Association of California, a service organization encompassing 50 regional member agencies. The District maintains a small but highly trained unit responsible for the prevention, elimination or control of mosquitoes and other arthropods known to be potentia carriers of infectious diseases, or presenting a public nuisance.
