It is with a heavy heart that we report that Troy Gentry, one-half of the award-winning duo Montgomery Gentry, has died in a helicopter crash.  He was 50 years old.

The duo’s Twitter account revealed the news Friday

There are photos of the wreckage here ;-(.

Over the duo’s career, they won American Music Awards, ACM and CMA Awards, and were inducted into the Grand Ole Opry.  Three of their albums went platinum and they scored five #1 hits.  We were blessed to have Troy and Eddie right here in Sonoma County just a few months ago for Country Summer 2017.  Over the years we’ve also had them at the Sonoma County Fair and Luther Burbank Center for the Arts for some amazing shows.  We thought we’d post a few photos from those shows, in honor of Troy.  RIP Troy Gentry!

Listen to Froggy 92.9 this afternoon as we play songs and tell stories from one of the greats in Country Music.
